INDABA TOURISM WAS THE ULTIMATE BUSINESS PLATFORM
TOURISM KwaZulu-Natal CEO, Ndabo Khoza has eloquently described the annual Indaba Trade Show held at thr Durban's International Convention Centre as the Africa's ultimate stakeholders platform to establish a sustainable business-to-business linkages.
Khoza shared his sentiments on the sidelines of the ICC on Friday afternoon, on the eve of the official start of the 11-14 May 2013 tourism and trade exhibition that showcases all the African offerings to the international business people and visitors.
This was the perfect opportunity for everyone in the tourism and hospitality industry to interact and forge sustainable business networks with the top international buyers, he noted.
"The Indaba Trade Show remains the ultimate and viable platform for everyone involved in the industry to experience how this Africa's most succesful trade exhibition has grown to become the major attraction to the international buyers of our Afrocentric products over the years.
It has created a sound footing for major business to business transactions as, we are told, many businesses concluded at our Indaba Show continue to strenghten the foothold of the KZN business operators", explained Khoza.
South African Tourism CEO Thulani Nzima also concurred with Tourism KZN Boss, and added that this year's Indaba Trade Show has attracted over 13 000 visitors and that 1 300 exhibitors would showcase their products inside the ICC halls and at the adjecent Durban Exhibition Centre.
"The 2013 Indaba Trade Show would be officially opened by the Republic of South Africa's Minister of Tourism and Environmental Affairs, Marthinus van Schalkwyk, on Saturday evening.
Thereafter, all our delegates, including exhibitors and the media personnel would be invited unto a Tourism Indaba festivities at the all-night beach party" Nzima said.
And, Durban Tourism CEO, Phillip Sithole, appplauded the pivotal role that was played by the ICC's annual hosting of the Indaba Trade Show to the municipality and to the tourism and hospitality industry stakeholders.
"We are projecting a staggering R 200 million spin-offs that would translate to our stakeholders after the four-day trade exhibition." observed Sithole.
