KZN BUSINESS HUB TO CEMENT BRICS ECONOMIC TIES AMONG ORDINARY PEOPLE

The provincial economics cluster have gone all out and left no stone unturned in making the 5th BRICS two-day Summit currently taking place at the Durban's International Convention Centre and the adjacent Exhibition Centre into a runaway success, that must also benefit the average businesspersons in South Africa.

KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Economic Development and Tourism, Mike Mabuyakhulu has launched what he calls the "vital linkage between the ordinary business community and our visiting delegates" and should help capacitate and empower them to foster and strenghten economic ties while the political leadership from the BRICS partner countries deliberate on new economic growth and trade development fraternal programmes.

Accompanied by the top brass from their provincial business entities, namely; Tourism KZN, Trade and Investment KZN, KZN Growth Fund, IThala Development Finance Corporation, Dube TradePort, Richards Bay Industrial Zone, Agri-Business Development Agency and  the Durban Industrial Promotion   Agency, Mabuyakhulu launched the KZN Business Hub at one of the leading beachfront hotels on Monday.

We want to, says Mabuyakhulu, put the message across to our visiting delegates that KZN business community and our citizens were made of the 'most powerful economic minds' and want to make the best outcomes out of the 5th Bricks Summit, as my department has taken note of what may hve gone horribly wrong with the previous BRICS meetings.

"As DEDT, we have literally studied the shortfalls of previous government platforms at the last two government platforms during the last past-immediate two BRICS conferences, and, we ain to meticulously plug the gaps.
By launching the KZN Business Hub, we want to reposition KZN as the epicentre of African economic growth and development.
For our business community and the ordinary citizenry were created the state of the art, convenient and a fully-equipped facility whereby they could network, foster and strengthen economic ties with their fellow BRICS nation states counterparts flowing from this pivotal symposium that aim to develop strong economic growth and development." says Mabuyakhulu.

Added, Mabuyakhulu, his government puts the citizens first. Hence, we have provided you with a facility that was fully laden with all the latest digital gadgets to access all the leading business networks around the world.
And we have also provided the BRICS delegates with access to the net. DEDT officials will be on standby to advise BRICS delegates with vital information and advices of the business opportunities that our province has to offer.
We want to forge strong and sustainable economic ties through the KZN Business Hub convergennce tools in order to deepen and fasttrack strong economic ties within the emerging new global political economy framework.

"We chose this theme because the latest developments within the global economic space have shown that Africa, and South Africa in particular, is not only the next frontier of growth but is destined to be the biggest economic storyline of our contemporary time.
KZN has positioned herself to leverage all these opportunies, and, what a better place than at a BRICS Meeting taking place in the ever-warm,coastal city of Durban." summed Mabuyakhulu.
